Eggs have been a source of food to humans for thousands of years and this page shows pupils how eggs are used in meals in different countries and that eggs form an important part of everyday life all over the planet. Pupils can click on highlighted areas of the world map to find out more about the local cuisine of those countries and to see an egg-based recipe that forms part of the local diet. Pupils should understand that eggs are a valuable part of a nutritious and balanced diet providing lots of protein, vitamins and minerals. Some of the recipes are quite complicated and pupils should be supervised at all times when cooking.
